Harmony Valley Conservation Area, just a 7-minute drive from Palmetto, offers over 28 hectares of green space punctuated by numerous recreational nature trails and the Harmony Creek that runs through the area. The park also contains a popular off-leash dog area.
Cedar Valley Conservation Area is a 9-minute drive from Palmetto and offers a moderately challenging 1.8 km trail that takes about 22 minutes to complete. This is a popular choice for birding, hiking, and walking.

It’s all about green space in Oshawa and with more than 130 parks to explore, there’s no shortage of opportunity for outdoor fun! Oshawa also has numerous golf courses, seven altogether, including Kedron Dells Golf Club, a 6-minute drive away and Durham Golf an 11-minute drive from Palmetto.
There are also many recreation centres within a few minutes’ drive of Palmetto. Some of the most popular ones less than 10 minutes away, include: Northview Community Centre, Delpark Homes Centre, Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre and Donevan Recreation Complex. These centres offer exceptional programming including camps, sports, fitness programs, skating, and swimming.
