The town of Georgina is a scenic destination with plenty of modern conveniences and opportunities to explore. Situated just south of Lake Simcoe, the neighbouring town of Keswick offers plenty of recreational activities year-round such as boating, swimming, and hiking in the summer or ice fishing, and skiing/snowboarding in the winter. But there is so much more to discover.

Here is your weekend guide to Keswick and Georgina.

  • Elpida Café & Roastery

    3 minutes from Georgina Heights

    Providing coffee lovers with the best quality pick-me-up, Elipida Café & Roastery brews small-batch, ethically sourced coffee. Organic and fair-trade, they also source their coffee from women farmers internationally and support local businesses by selling their products. You can visit in person and try one of their specialty drinks or order from their online shop.

  • Visit Willow Beach Conservation Area

    9 minutes from Georgina Heights

    This small beach on the shores of Lake Simcoe is the perfect picnic spot for family and friends. If you’re planning a day trip, there are picnic tables, public washrooms, and parking access for residents and non-residents.

  • The Beach Lakefront Bar & Grill

    6 minutes from Georgina Heights

    A waterfront restaurant overlooking Lake Simcoe from a beautiful patio that’s open all summer long. Select from a massive menu that includes hearty salads, pub fare, delicious sandwiches, Tex Mex features, soups, salmon, steak, chicken and more. The restaurant also hosts a variety of entertainment year-round, including live music every month.

  • Georgina Pioneer Village

    5 minutes from Georgina Heights

    A museum that offers a glimpse into Keswick’s early history and heritage. Check out the interactive programs designed to educate students and visitors on the work and pastimes of the area’s 19th-century settlers.

  • The Briars Resort & Spa

    12 minutes from Georgina Heights

    The Briars Resort and Spa is the perfect destination for a local getaway or event, offering golfing pools, trails, yoga classes, water sports, and more. Indulge a unique country-style dining experience at the resort’s restaurant which features an upscale seasonal menu with traditional and contemporary favourites: Cornish hen, wild mushroom ravioli, prawns, braised lamb, and more.   • The ROC (Recreational Outdoor Campus)

    7 minutes from Georgina Heights

    Every season, the Town of Georgina organizes outdoor programs at the ROC, an outdoor venue that that features archery, trails, climbing walls, sports courts (volleyball, basketball), rope walks, and more. The ROC offers seasons passes or you can book for a group.

  • Sibbald Point Provincial Park

    17 minutes from Georgina Heights

    The largest provincial park in the area, Sibbald Point features a large sandy beach, picnicking areas, and scenic hiking trails. The park has activities for every type of adventurer from bird watching, to canoeing, biking, fishing, swimming, and ice fishing in the winter. Campers are welcome too. Both electrical and non-electrical campsites are accessible.

  • The Stephen Laycock Theatre

    4 minutes from Georgina Heights

    A little piece of Broadway in Keswick, The Stephan Laycock Theater, an intimate historical venue, has a lineup of musicians and musical tribute bands playing year round. Upcoming performances include tributes to the following: Mean Girls, Beach Boys, and Dolly Parton & Neil Diamond.

There are more hidden beaches and walking trails along the shores of Lake Simcoe, including Young’s Harbour, Glenwood Beach, and Brighton Beach, to just name a few.
